Lentils and Sesame Processing Plant

Shijiazhuang Xinlu Technology Co., Ltd. – Integrated Processing Solutions for Lentils and Sesame Seeds

A processing plant designed for lentils and sesame seeds handles two distinct types of crops, each requiring specialized equipment to achieve the high levels of purity, grading, and, in the case of sesame, oil extraction, demanded by the market. Shijiazhuang Xinlu Technology Co., Ltd. offers integrated plant solutions that can be configured for parallel or separate processing lines for these commodities, focusing on gentle handling and precision sorting to preserve product integrity.

Lentils Processing Line:
The primary goal for lentil processing is to produce clean, size-graded, and visually uniform whole or split lentils for direct consumption or ingredient use. The process begins with pre-cleaning, where raw lentils are passed through air-screen cleaners to remove a significant portion of dust, chaff, small stones, and foreign materials. This is followed by destoning, a critical step where specific gravity separators use air fluidization and vibration to separate dense stones and mud balls from the lentils, which have a lower specific gravity.

The next stage is precision grading and sorting. Lentils are passed over a series of oscillating screens with precisely sized slotted or round perforations to separate them into uniform size fractions. This is essential for meeting market specifications and ensuring even cooking times. Following sizing, the lentils may undergo optical sorting. High-resolution color sorters are used to remove off-color seeds, damaged kernels, and residual foreign materials that have passed through previous stages. These machines use cameras and sophisticated software to identify and eject defective products with jets of air, ensuring a high-quality final product. For the production of split lentils, the graded whole lentils are first conditioned to a specific moisture level and then passed through a splitting machine, which typically uses carborundum emery or specialized impact plates to split the seeds. The splits are then separated from any remaining whole lentils and hulls using aspiration and screening.

Sesame Seed Processing Line:
Sesame seed processing focuses on thorough cleaning, hulling (for certain products), and, optionally, oil extraction. The initial cleaning is intensive due to the seed's small size. Double-air screen cleaners are highly effective, using two stages of aspiration to remove fine dust and light impurities, followed by fine screens to remove larger and smaller contaminants. For producing dehulled sesame, the cleaned seeds undergo a hulling process. This often involves a wet method where seeds are soaked to loosen the hulls, followed by gentle rubbing in a hulling machine and separation of the hulls from the kernels using hydrocyclones or specific gravity separation. The dehulled kernels are then carefully dried.

The cleaned or dehulled seeds can be packed for direct sale. Alternatively, for oil extraction, the seeds are first conditioned and then fed into a screw press. Sesame oil is often produced via cold-pressing to preserve its distinctive flavor and nutritional properties, though solvent extraction can be used for higher yields. The resulting crude oil may be filtered, but it is often not fully refined to maintain its characteristics. The press cake can be milled into sesame flour.

An integrated plant from Shijiazhuang Xinlu Technology Co., Ltd. for these two products would feature a logical flow with shared material handling where possible, but with dedicated, specialized machines for the unique requirements of each seed. The design emphasizes hygiene, minimal breakage, and configurable sorting stages to produce a range of finished products from both lentils and sesame seeds.
