For seed, a treatment stage is almost always included. The cleaned and graded paddy seed is conveyed to a seed treater, where it is coated with appropriate fungicides and/or insecticides. This chemical treatment protects the seed from soil-borne diseases and pests during the critical germination and early seedling stages. Modern treaters are designed for precise application and minimal dust generation. Finally, the treated seed is moved to the weighing and bagging section. Precision scales and bagging machines are used to pack the seed into labeled bags, which are then palletized for storage and distribution. Throughout the plant, bucket elevators and conveyors are designed with features to minimize seed drop heights and impact, thereby reducing the risk of mechanical damage.
