Working principle

A uniform layer of paddy flows across an inclined deck that vibrates at a controlled stroke and frequency while an upward airflow passes through the grain bed. Mature, heavier paddy settles and flows toward the clean outfeed; lighter paddy, dust and husk fragments are drawn away into a reject outlet. Fine tuning of deck angle, stroke, and air volume compensates for moisture and varietal differences typical across paddy harvests.

Operation and adjustment

Operators should sample both clean and reject streams during setup and adjust deck angle and air volume incrementally. Paddy with elevated moisture may require lower airflow and modified stroke to avoid aspiration of acceptable grain.
