Shijiazhuang xinlu technology co.,ltd presents its Wheat Gravity Separator, a purpose-built standalone machine for density-based separation of wheat seed. This unit is designed to improve seed lot uniformity by removing low-density, immature, or damaged kernels and other light impurities that cannot be removed reliably by sieving alone. The Wheat Gravity Separator is intended for seed conditioners, small to medium milling operations, and processors who require stable separation performance with straightforward adjustment and upkeep.
Working principle
The separator uses a gently oscillating deck combined with an upward airflow to stratify the wheat bed by density. As wheat is evenly distributed across the inclined deck, the vibration and air column work together: denser kernels sink into deck grooves and move toward the clean-seed outlet, while lighter material--shrivelled kernels, empty grains, dust and light chaff--rises and is exhausted to the reject outlet. By adjusting deck slope, stroke amplitude and airflow volume, operators achieve a precise balance between purity and throughput.
Performance and applications
Typical capacity depends on wheat variety, moisture content and target separation; in common practice, a single machine processes from several tonnes per hour up to 20-25 t/h under typical conditions. The Wheat Gravity Separator is effective at improving germination uniformity for seed certification, enhancing milling feedstock quality, and reducing downstream wear on hulling or milling equipment by removing light contaminants.
Operation and adjustment
Operators tune three primary variables: deck angle (often within 0-10°range), stroke amplitude(small millimetric adjustments), and air volume (regulated by blower speed and dampers). Best practice is to start with conservative settings-lower airflow and moderate stroke--then increase gradually while monitoring reject and clean-seed ratios. The machine performs best when feed is distributed evenly; use of the feed distribution box prevents channeling and increases separation consistency.
Customization and integration
Although designed as a standalone module, the Wheat Gravity Separator can be supplied with optional features such as frequency-controlled drives, HMI recipe management, expanded deck sizes for higher throughput, and integrated dust collectors. Layout and mechanical interfaces are adaptable to existing elevating and conveying systems for straightforward installation.
